When selecting an engagement ring, ensuring the right size is crucial. There's nothing more awkward than struggling to fit a ring onto your partner's finger after a joyful "yes" simply because the size is off. To avoid this, it's essential to understand ring sizing. Here’s a guide to help you find the perfect fit, ensuring that the ring you choose will be as flawless as the person you're giving it to.

Method 1: Measure an Existing Ring

  1. Find a ring that fits comfortably on the finger where you plan to wear your new ring.
  2. Measure the internal diameter of the ring using a ruler or measuring tape marked in millimeters (mm). Place your ring on top of the ruler and measure the inside of the circle—the part that touches your finger.
  3. Use our conversion chart to translate your diameter measurement into the correct ring size.

Determine Someone Else’s Ring Size

The most reliable method is to measure a ring they currently wear on their ring finger, keeping in mind that ring sizes can vary slightly between the left and right hands. If they only wear rings on other fingers, measure one of those to get an approximate size, anticipating possible resizing later (note: this excludes Infinity and Eternity Bands). If measuring a ring is not an option, consider asking a close friend or family member who might know their ring size.
